You wake up the next morning where you can feel your head throbbing like a ticking bomb was about to go off in your head. You groan as you get up and force yourself to go to school. If you had told your parents that you didn’t want to go to school today, they’d definitely lecture you for a few days. After you struggle to get in your uniform, you take some painkillers to ease the pain that stayed in your head. Later on, you head out squinting at the sudden sunlight that hit your eyes.
“…Never going to karaoke again…” you  mumble to yourself as you shield your eyes with your hand. As you walk slowly to school, someone taps you on the shoulder and surprisingly enough, it wasn’t Ivan. It was Dmitri.
“Oh hi, Dmitri. Where’s Ivan?”
“Oh, he’s leaving later. He woke up late.”
“I see… so what are you doing so early?” you asked.
“I have to buy more rice…” he chuckled as he nudged your arm.
“Huh? I don’t get it.”
“You’ll see~” You narrow your eyes as you were getting annoyed at Dmitri at this point. No wonder Nikolai didn’t want to grow up like him. A replica of him would be terribly annoying and bothersome.
“Oh, by the way, about this Saturda-“
“Well, this is where I go. See you later, [Name]!”
As he skips off towards the grocery stores, you continue walking to school with a book in hand. “What are you reading?” a familiar voice asked you from behind. You turn around to come face to face with Nikolai. As a reflex action you jump in your spot, dropping your book in the process.
-Nikolai’s POV-
I could see [Name] walking with Dmitri from a distance as I hid behind pole to pole trying to hear what they were talking about. But unfortunately, I couldn’t. As soon as Dmitri skipped away to the grocery stores, I saw [Name] take out a book and start to read. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to walk to school with each other like friends so I sneak up and try to start a conversation. Well, it didn’t work well.
-Your POV
“N-n-n-n-n-nikolai!” you grabbed onto your stomach as you felt it empty at the sight of his appearance, “What are you doing, you scared me!”
“…” Nikolai calmly bends down to pick up your book and hands it over to you. “Here.” Frozen, you stand there as he stares at you. He shoves it towards your chest and glares at you. “Take it, dammit.”
“Uh, okay. Sorry.” You mumbled in reply. You gently take the book from him and stand there in awkwardness. “W-want to walk to school together?”
Nikolai nods as he tags along behind you.
After a few minutes of silence, you blurted out awkwardly, “D-do you still hate me, Nikolai?”
“Huh?” Nikolai’s expression changes to that you wouldn’t understand.
“W-well, I was wondering, you haven’t exactly been trying to track me down and… the other day! What were you and Ivan talking about?”
“I-i…”
“Hm?”
“I-I’ve got to go.” Nikolai sprints ahead leaving you by yourself, clueless. As you watch Nikolai disappear in the distance, you see him trip and fall making you giggle before running towards him.
“Nikolai! Are you alright?” you ask as you help him up.
“D-don’t touch me!” he snapped as he pulled his arm away.
“Sorry…”
“N-no. It’s…” He mumbled. He gets up again and runs off, this time not tripping on air. “I’m so pathetic…” he mumbled to himself as he was far from you.
“Huh?” you get up from your kneeling position and continue to walk to school which luckily wasn’t far away. When you finally got to school you see Lovino resting in front of his locker; next to yours. “Oh…[Name], you’re here.”
“Yeah, I’m so tired.” You yawned to yourself.
“Eliza won’t be here today. She has a terrible migraine...” Lovino chuckled as he then yawned as well.
“How ‘bout the other three? They’re usually here early.” You asked as you opened your locker taking out your books.
“Oh them. They’re…” Lovino closed his eyes, “I have no idea.”
But as to suddenly answer your question, you see Antonio walk in with a couple of cuts and bruises on him.
“Antonio! What happened to you?” you asked.
“Chicaaaa~~” He grinned as he leaped towards you, “Nothing really. Just had a chat with someone~”
“What?!” You turn and prepare to look for Nikolai, since you had your suspicions on him, before Antonio grabs your arm and pulls you towards him.
“Don’t worry, it was a friendly chat!” he grinned again, “I accidentally said some bad stuff that hurt his feelings. So I am totally at fault!”
“Okay then…” you took your books then close your locker and tell Antonio, “I’m looking for Gil and Francis. Where are they?”
“Gil’s talking to him too.” Antonio scratched the back of his head while you raised an eyebrow at him, “But I assure you, chica, they’re just having friendly chats. Unless Gil and Francis insult him, then it’s not his fault. Okay?”
You nod and drag Lovino to class who was close to falling asleep on the floor.
